The regatta season is on, time to embark to the classical American tradition, the road trip! But not a general one, with a rusty and dusty cabrio, some guns, bad guys, alcohol and drugs, crime, sex and love, good music... but even a better one!!! Pulling a trailer with your boat, car full packed with wet- and drysuits, lifevests. Your mind is full with the upcoming event, the feeling of the boatpark, the smell of a new shore, the get-together with your best mates, and sailing sailing sailing to your last breath... Listening U2 or Bruce Springteen in the car. (Oh my god two years ago I woke up on the highway near Venice to the very loud November rain on repeat, my helm was trying hard to keep himself awake!)
I am sure that you always have new tips for packing more practical, to get over easily on the 8-10-12 hours of drive, as everyone else. UV Covers' team have some tips for you, but now we share only one: use hulls cover for your boat. It's easy to pull on like a
condom swimming cap, because it's elastic. It keep your boat clean, save it from small scratches. It is also available with brightful orange back to keep your tow visible on the road.
By the way my favourite sailing road movie is from Keith Magnussen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CMCLwKy3Xk
In the cinema, Almost famous, here is the IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181875/
(And also the Road trip, don't judge me: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0215129/)
What is yours?
